lyrics

The sun was setting on a lonely southern desert.
A lonely cabin nipped its heel.
So dimly lit this cabin in the moonlight,
a lonely widow cooked a meal.

She cut herself on a dull ragged bone knife,
Throwing pratties into the pot.
Then a loud bang and some fire in the attic,
Sent the widow into a shock.

She ascended the shaky wooden staircase,
Like Jacob's ladder to the sky,
And atop a shining little saucer.
The widow can't believe her eyes.

She watched as the door opened up,
And little robots do descend.
She grabbed the knife but the stinging of the ray guns,
Made her think this was the end.

She ran down the stairs and barricaded the doors,
But the fiends they ignored the ban.
She looked at her burns and she fell into a deep fright,
She new she was at the heel of the tiny robot men.

For seven hours she fought off the invaders,
They're attacking her from every side.
She's murdered one, but she knows there is another.
Pretty soon she's going to die.

She watched as the final one ran,
Into the ship to get away.
She smashed it up but she saw a tiny symbol,
The symbol spelled out U.S.A.

She ran down the stairs and barricaded the doors,
But the fiends they ignored the ban.
She looked at her burns and she fell into a deep fright,
She new she was at the heel of the tiny robot men.
